A Mile To Go
Do you remember when Pepper said he knew a man who killed himself behind his shed because he couldn't go on living a life that had gone so wrong; and do you recall those times just writing rhymes because we had nothing much better to do, or the day we two fought with fists that thumped and words that swerved then seared and burned the love we had because it was true? Time stopped then but no mourners came to weep over shredded northern souls. And although broken hearts still beat in time and wide clear eyes still shine with the madness which is deep inside we have changed, as well we might, and travelled across space and time.

Death May Occur
Their gold's turned to rust
Blown away in the dust
For love letters read at dawn
Mean nothing to those that fall
And as we slip they slide
Beyond the bell-shaped curve...
Blown away in the dust
For love letters read at dawn
Mean nothing to those that fall
And as we slip they slide
Beyond the bell-shaped curve...
